Kendrick (Kenny) Eugene Fulton, 66 of Monroe City died at 1:27 p.m. Thursday Feb. 25, 2010 at his home. He was born July 5, 1943 in Fort Knox, Ky., the son of Park and Winifred Ann Kendrick Fulton. He graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School, Owensboro, Ky. He worked for Curless Feed Company and Gardner Denver in Quincy, Ill. in his early years. Then he worked for Diemakers/Intermet in Monroe City for 34 years as a Senior Advance Product Development Engineer. He also worked for Mosswood Golf Course, for seven years and was instrumental in the planning and construction of the golf course. He also had a small golf club repair business. Mr. Fulton was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Monroe City. He was a member of the Mosswood Golf Course where he served as a past board member and he was a member of the Pal Bowl Wednesday Night Bowling League, Palmyra. He was also past member of the South Side Bridge Club. Mr. Fulton was very sports-minded and excelled in golf and bowling, having bowled a perfect 300 game and scored two “holes in one” to his credit. He enjoyed teaching young people the game of golf and held clinics each summer at Mosswood Golf Course. He loved attending his grandchildren’s activities, playing golf and visiting with his golfing buddies and friends. He married Betty Nesbit on Feb. 1, 1964 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and she survives. Also surviving are two sons: Mike (Penny) Fulton, Monroe City, and Jimmy (Jennifer) Fulton, Monroe City; three grandchildren, Jordon, Kyle and Kaylee Ann Fulton; one brother Michael Leo (Sheila) Fulton, Owensboro, Ky.; three sisters: Suzanne Fulton and Donnie McCaskill of St. Simon’s Island, Ga.; Cecilia Fulton, Owensboro, Ky., Jessica (Tim) Waltrip, Calhoun, Ky.; three nephews: Tim (Linda), Chris (Molly) Fulton and Matthew Fulton; and two nieces, Kathy (Scott) Hempel and Carey Fulton and fiance Matt Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday March 2, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Monroe City, Fr. Don Antweiler officiated with burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Monroe City. A parish prayer service was held at Garner Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Art Fuemmeler, Nick Mudd, Danny Spalding, Wayne Porter, Marvin Viloria, J.R. Chisham, Dan Adam, Terry Kendrick, Ed Thomas and Randy Parn. Honorary pallbearers were Jordan, Kyle, Kaylee, Chris, Carey and Matthew Fulton, Timmy O’Bryan, Kathy Hempel, Paul Kendrick and Susan Dierks. Memorials have been suggested to Mosswood Golf Course of Holy Rosary School. Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, was in charge of the arrangements.
