A large crowd of curious onlookers turned out at Mary’s Beauty Shop last week to watch as the United Methodist Church preacher, the Rev. Clayton Peak, had his beard shaved by Mary Delashmutt. Rev. Peak was making good on a promise to shave his beard if church members met a challenge he had issued to them. It is the first time since 1995 for the preacher not to sport his trademark red goatee.
