Morgan B. Smyser, DWI first offense, suspended imposition of sentence and placed on two years probation, 50 hours community service, complete a SATOP program, attend a Victim Impact Panel, pay $100 county restitution, pay the recoupment of funds and court costs;
Nicholas L. Ryan, purchase of more than nine grams of pseudoephedrine, sentenced to 180 days in county jail with suspended execution of sentence pending successful completion of two years probation, 14 days shock incarceration, paying own board bill, 40 hours community service, complete any counseling and treat probation officer requires, pay $100 county restitution, court costs;

Monroe City Police

The Monroe City Police Department responded to the following calls.
On June 25 Jay Williams was arrested on a felony warrant for driving while revoked.
There was a report of fireworks being shot off in Kendrick’s trailer park, but nothing was located.
Naa Dzama Benson was arrested on a Monroe County warrant and transported to county jail. Benson later posted $1,000 bond.
There was a report of a subject lying in a lawn at Park Street. The subject was fine and was just waiting on people in apartment to wake up.
On June 24 there was a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on East Dover Street.
There was a report of someone ringing a doorbell several times and then running off at the 400 block of Mill Street. The subject was not located.
There was a report of a suicidal subject at the Rainbow Motel. The subject was located and not considered suicidal.
On June 23 there was a report of a careless and imprudent driver on North Main Street. The subject was faint and dizzy from the heat. The subject was taken to his/her brother’s to cool down for a couple hours before getting back on the highway.
A summons was issued to Kennedy Lorenson for driving without a license.
A female reported striking a deer approximately five miles north of the city on Route Z. She was referred to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
On June 22. there was a report of stealing at 322 First St.

Monroe County Commission

The Monroe County Commission's first order of business during its Monday, June 29 meeting was to review weekend 911 operations with 911 Coordinator Sam Curd.
Janice Robinson with NECAC discussed the proposed HPRP Grant Funding Application and the county-by-county breakdown of funding. The commission received assurance from Robinson that local agencies could refer eligible clients to NECAC for possible assistance.
Cindy Hutlz with Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments discussed a grant procedure issue in regard to a grant from the Mark Twain Solid Waste District.
The commission traveled to Madison to meet with the city to inspect a proposed street improvement project.
The commission traveled to inspect a drainage issue on County Road 813.
To start off its Friday, June 26 meeting the commission reappointed Linden Vanlandingham to serve on the Little Dixie Regional Libraries Board for a term from July 1 thru June 30, 2013.
The commission conducted a work session on the state bids available for boom mowers.
The commission conducted a bid opening for the purchase of two recycling trailers; one to be used in Madison and the other to be a switch out trailer for Paris and Madison. The purchase of these trailers was made possible by a grant from the Mark Twain Solid Waste District and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The bids received were as follows: Maxwell Trailers, $7,994; Krigbaum Trailers LLC, $9,100, (picked up in Monroe City) or $9,150 (delivered to Paris); Cope Trailer Sales, LLC, $8,1000; Beilstein's RV & Auto Inc., $9,200; Martens Trailer Sales & Service, $9,052. The commission tabled the bids to allow time to study them and review all he different options.
